Storm Season

Dreamwidth will be live April 30th and I now have an account over there in closed beta. When I started this journal, I was hoping that IJ would at least be a mirror of what was going on in LJ, but it doesn't seem to have worked out that way, so I've moved this whole journal over to my new home:

The OpenID at DW is insanely easy to use. So even if you don't want to set up another journal, set up an OpenID account and take a look around.

But no boxes for this one. I received an invitation for an account at Dreamwidth because I had a validated OpenID account, so I'm working at getting my new journal set up. I'm not sure exactly how I'm going to use this one -- primary journal, mirror for the others, or just a fic journal -- but the more I use it, the more I like it.

I could go into some of the features that I like or the lack of advertising, but really the main reason is here:

Being set up by people -- fans -- who know what fans want from a journal is a big plus for me. The ease with with an OpenID account can be set up means that fandom is less likely to be fractured, and more likely to be expanded. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
